How to use this ledger

Main missions are listed per chapter in a good playing order (verified against the full 110-mission list). Side & Stranger missions appear in the chapter where they unlock. Tap the i button on any quest for details: a spoiler-free overview, where it starts, a tip — and a blurred spoiler you can tap to reveal if you want to know what actually happens.

The Golden Rule: everything tagged Missable must be finished before the end of Chapter 6. The game warns you clearly before the final missions — when it does, stop and clear your list.

Important tips — read before riding

  • Talk to camp members between missions. Fishing trips, hunts, robberies, card games and item requests only trigger from camp chats (look for the speech icons). Many exist only in Chapters 2–4 and count toward 100%. Do a lap of camp every time you return.
  • Two points of no return: ⚠ before Banking, The Old American Art (end of Ch4) — Chapter 5 restricts free roam for a while, so wrap up anything in progress. ⚠ before Our Best Selves (Ch6) — this starts the endgame; ALL missables must be done first.
  • Make a manual save before the Ch6 finale. Keep a separate save slot before the mission "Red Dead Redemption" so you can always come back to this point of the game later.
  • 19 Optional Honor Missions (tagged Optional + Honor here) are required for the "Lending a Hand" trophy — and they're all missable. They're also most of the game's best writing.
  • Honor matters most in Chapter 6. Play high honor if you care about outcomes. Quick honor: greet people, fish, do good deeds, forgive debts.
  • Camp ledger → fast travel. After Money Lending unlocks the ledger, buy Dutch's lodging first, then Arthur's map. Saves hours.
  • Lost a Legendary pelt? It's not gone — the Trapper receives it automatically. Legendary kills are never wasted.
  • Gold medals can wait. Any mission can be replayed later from Pause → Progress → Story, so never stress objectives on a first run.
  • Don't rush the story. Chapters 2–4 are the golden window for side content. Nothing in the main plot is time-sensitive until the marked warnings.
